I'm a father of three beautiful children, husband to a woman much too good for me, and I enjoy building things and helping people. I have been running a wildlife removal company for a number of years which has allowed me to make plenty of connections with reputable tradesmen as well as gather plenty of experience fixing some of the more overlooked portions of roofs and siding that allow bats and whatnot to get into the home. Wanting to expand my repertoire, I decided to obtain an unrestricted construction supervisor license so that I could have a strong knowledge of building codes as well as the ability to pull permits on any projects that may need them, making sure that my projects are of superior quality as well as safe for the client. I've seen too many roofs that have been improperly shingled and flashed that have lead to mold issues and structural framing becoming rotten, same with siding and windows. Hopefully we can start to bring back a bit of pride to the building trades.
Experience
Over the years I've had plenty of experience running around on roofs and climbing ladders keeping the critters out of homes. This has exposed me to many problems that have been caused by ageing of the structure or even improper installation of materials. I've fixed and replaced soffits, installed new ridge vents, fixed the flashing on chimneys, windows, garage doors. Just about anything and everything on the outside of the house. One of the main reasons I got the CSL was because time and time again I'd run into roofs that were going to need replacement within the next year, or even 5 years prior for that matter, and I didn't want to seal all of the home for a client only for it to be ripped out and leave the clients right back at square one paying the bill twice.
My first actual general contractor gig came when I had to renovate the bathroom of my apartment buildings basement bathroom. I got a crash course in coordinating different trades for the plumbing and electrical while i took care of the demolition, framing, drywall, and trimwork. It was a humbling experience but it allowed me growth in my skills and ignited a passion for renovation and building.
Saint Joseph, the man chosen to be Jesus' earthly father, you are a model of the kind of men we should strive to be. A protector of the family, a skilled craftsman, a builder like our Father in heaven. May the Lord guide us in our mission to construct homes and utilities for the benefit of those around us. Saint Joseph, please pray for us.
